Event Summary

From Shoreline to Studio: Capturing Torbay’s Geopark in Print.

Event Description

Celebrate the natural beauty of Torbay's Geopark in this engaging, full-day workshop led by artist Alexandra Robb. This session invites you to explore the "endless possibilities" of our local landscape-from ancient rock formations to the kelp forests beneath the waves. Participants will be guided through two distinct printmaking techniques: 1. Nature Monoprinting: Learn to pull unique images directly from plant materials, with a special focus on the delicate textures of seaweed. 2. Linocutting: Design, carve, and print a small-scale lino block. By the end of the day, you will have mounted your collection of prints into a handmade concertina folding book, creating a tactile souvenir of the Geopark. Schedule 10:45 - 13:00: Welcome, plant specimen printing, and lino block carving. 13:00 - 13:45: Lunch break (Relax and recharge in the heart of Torquay). 13:45 - 16:00: Inking and printing your lino designs and book assembly. What's Included: All professional equipment, water-based inks, and paper. What to Bring: Reference ideas (photos/sketches) and an apron to protect your clothes. Tickets £70 #TorbayGeopark #PrintmakingWorkshop #ArtisanGallery #LinoPrint #NatureArt #VisitDevon #CreativeWorkshop
