Event Summary

A hands‑on creative session using collage, images and words to reflect on and envision alternative futures for AI and creativity. Free in-person event in South-West London.

Event Description

This hands on creative session will introduce participants to some of the inspiring AI-related projects that are coming from artists, organisations and communities. You will then be guided through an envisioning technique similar to Rob Hopkins' 'time machine' method for imagining positive environmental futures. You will have opportunities to discuss, reflect on and 'map' a collaborative vision of alternative creative futures with AI - using a mix of collage, images and words. The aim is to build a picture of where we might like to get to, as a step towards thinking about what might be needed to reach there. You'll be invited to let your imagination roam - the intention is for this to be an open and respectful space. This workshop will give you: - An introduction to some inspiring AI projects; - A space to think and talk about AI and creativity in a 'blue sky' way; - A collaborative experience of using creative techniques to capture your thoughts on AI futures. This is the fourth workshop in a series from a group of researchers at Royal Holloway, University of London, funded by the SPRITE+ network. You can find details of the other workshops via the Book Tickets link. We are also running a related survey, which is linked below.
