The Jewish Playwrights Programme is now accepting applications for its 2026/27 development programme. Presented by the Jewish Literary Foundation, the six-month programme will support eight early-career and emerging playwrights through the development of a full-length script. The programme is open to either Jewish playwrights, or playwrights who will work on a play that engages with Jewish themes or culture. Through curated in-person sessions, structured writing deadlines, and sustained peer feedback, the programme offers an intimate and supportive environment where writers can be bold and courageous with their work. The autumn cohort for 26/27 will be led by Julia Pascal - award-winning playwright and director. Alongside Julia's expert guidance, writers will receive guaranteed dramaturgical feedback on their script, and will join a group industry day with a leading director and professional actors to test extracts of their scripts.
