Event Summary
Workshop & Lecture series looking at the representation of the ‘self’ vs technology in literature.
Event Description
As our world progresses so fast, with the rise of AI and ever increasing technology this series explores how contemporary literature is tackling the self in both technology and humans. With close looking at two examples: The Employees by Olga Ravn and Jungle House by Julianne Pachico we will explore the ever developing relationship between the human, object and machine. The final session will be a writing workshop that explores these themes and how we might in our own writing. The Employees - Olga Ravn - August 4th - 6:30pm- 7:30pm Jungle House - Julianne Pachico - August 11th - 6:30pm - 7:30pm Workshop Week - August 18th - 6:30pm - 7:30pm All workshops will take place online, and extracts will be sent before each session, however if you can read the books in full it would be even more enriching, yet discussions will be focused on the extracts. £50 for all three session Please reach out for concession prices and I will try to reduce the rate where I can.
