Communicating Climate is a four-day professional development lab at 101 Outdoor Arts for artists interested in or making work based within a climate narrative. You will explore how your work can address key environmental questions, create powerful and affecting experiences for audiences and encourage positive climate action.

The lab focuses on the symbiotic relationship between the creative practice and research, providing insight into how collaborative processes between researchers and artists can deepen the integrity of messaging and also widen the impact of artistic projects that explore the climate crisis.

During the lab you will hear from academic researchers and scientists who will share their current thinking around climate narratives and dive deeper into their methodologies.

Communicating Climate will be guided by climate artist Flick Ferdinando who will facilitate discussions, peer-to-peer learning and practical discovery. Field work on Greenham Common will provide opportunities to test out ideas on site with rich source material!
