The Listening is opening its doors to new artists, creatives, researchers and collaborators.

We are a growing Bristol based collective exploring the relationship between people, art and nature through immersive installations, sound, storytelling, workshops and public events.

Our first edition begins with birds and recordings gathered along a nature corridor in Lockleaze, Bristol. The project will grow through research, community participation and creative experimentation towards a larger immersive installation.

We would love to hear from visual artists, musicians, composers, music producers, sound artists, performers, dancers, filmmakers, creative technologists, designers, makers, writers, storytellers, ecologists and researchers. We are also interested in meeting people with skills in creative production, event delivery, communications, documentation, fundraising and community engagement.

You do not need to fit neatly into one category. We are interested in what you care about, how you work and what you might want to explore with others.

This open call is an expression of interest rather than an offer of immediate employment or a confirmed commission. It will help us build a directory of potential collaborators whom we may approach as relevant projects, workshops and events develop.

Some future opportunities may be paid when project funding is secured. Others may be voluntary, exploratory or based on mutual collaboration. The nature of the involvement, time commitment and available payment will always be discussed before anyone agrees to participate.
