Event Summary
Event Description
A Dumb Supper is an ancient ritual of remembrance and communion with the beloved dead, traditionally held at the time of year when the veil between this world and the next is believed to be at its thinnest.
Bringing together nine artists whose practices encompass painting, photography, performance, installation, mythology and the mysterious, Dumb Supper explores the boundaries between presence and absence, memory and imagination, the material and the supernatural.
The participating artists bring a remarkable diversity of approaches: from Sarah Sparkes' investigations of ghosts, magical traditions and the uncanny, to Ruth Calland's engagement with Jungian psychology and alchemy; from Andrea G Artz's explorations of memory and immersive realities to Noga Shatz's reimagining of mythological and feminine narratives.
Together, they invite us to consider what remains, what is remembered, and what might exist beyond the visible world.
