Event Summary
Event Description
Surveys are often the go-to tool for measuring impact, but they don't work for everyone. When evaluation isn't accessible, we miss out on hearing important voices. Traditional questionnaires can be off-putting or inaccessible for many community members-including adults with limited literacy, individuals living with dementia, or younger children.
This practical online workshop will explore creative, inclusive ways to evaluate community events and activities. We'll move beyond the traditional questionnaire to explore creative evaluation methods that ensure everyone can share their feedback.
The session will cover:
The challenges of traditional surveys: Identifying common barriers in standard feedback forms - and how to avoid them if you need to do a survey.
Creative and multi-sensory methods: Visual, movement-based, tactile, and informal storytelling approaches to gathering meaningful feedback.
Designing for mixed audiences: How to adapt evaluation tools so they work across different age groups, abilities, and literacy levels.
Capturing authentic impact: Gathering qualitative depth and rich stories without putting participants on the spot.
This session is suitable for anyone looking to make their project or activity evaluation more inclusive including:
Community group leaders, project coordinators, and facilitators
Arts, culture and heritage practitioners and other professionals working in community settings.
Cost: £15
