Choir Leader - Got 2 Sing Choir (Birmingham/Midlands)

Got 2 Sing Choir is expanding and seeking a skilled musician to join our team as a Choir Leader. This is a leadership role within an established, nationally recognised organisation that combines strong musical standards with a people-first approach to community singing.

Our choirs are non-auditioned adult ensembles performing contemporary repertoire in three-part harmony. Choir Leaders are responsible for delivering structured, energised rehearsals, teaching material clearly and fostering a welcoming, focussed rehearsal environment.

This role suits a musician who is as comfortable leading a room as they are performing, and who values both artistic quality and social impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead weekly 1.5-hour rehearsals

  • Teach contemporary harmony arrangements with keyboard accompaniment

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive and musically focused rehearsal culture

  • Participate in concerts, large-scale performances and special events

  • Work within established rehearsal frameworks and musical direction

What we offer

  • Paid, consistent part-time work - 38 sessions per year Start rate is £100 per teach session each session is 1.5 hours plus set up time = approx 2 hours (plus session prep time) This fee rises on an incremental scale as your choir progresses.

Job Requirements

  • Strong singing voice and confident keyboard/piano skills

  • Ability to teach and lead contemporary harmony accurately

  • Experience directing or teaching groups (desirable)

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Professional reliability and organisational awareness

  • Ability to lead rehearsals with energy and physical presence

  • Driving licence and access to transport

  • Availability for weekly evening rehearsals and performances

  • Right to work as a self-employed practitioner
