We're looking for a creative, collaborative and people centred performing arts provider to bring the Wagons Roll project to life. This opportunity is open to individual artists, organisations, or consortia who are excited by outdoor arts, storytelling, heritage, and working hand in hand with young people and communities.

Wagons Roll is part of the ReNEW Sharing Stories programme and celebrates the rich heritage and living legacy of the Showmen of Bromsgrove and Redditch. At its heart, this project is about place, pride, and participation - creating joyful, mobile, and engaging outdoor performances that connect local stories to public celebration.

Working alongside a dedicated project team, apprentices and a Skills Cohort Group of ten young people aged 16+, you will co design and deliver participatory workshops, skills development activity, and a touring performance experience that will feature at Astwood Bank, Bromsgrove, and Redditch Carnivals. You'll help young people build confidence and creative skills, while ensuring local communities see their own stories reflected in high quality, accessible cultural events.

The role blends creativity with care: shaping artistic ideas, supporting co creation, managing logistics across multiple sites, and embedding inclusive, environmentally responsible and safe practice throughout delivery. From pilot activity in 2026 to major carnival performances in 2027, you'll play a key role in creating a project that is memorable, meaningful and rooted in local identity.
