Job Description
Offbeat Dursley 2026 is seeking friendly and reliable volunteers to support our one-day town-wide micro-festival taking place in June 2026 in Market Square and surrounding streets.
Offbeat is a community-led creative event featuring stalls, talks, workshops, demonstrations, music, food and a collective making-and-parade moment. Volunteers will play an important role in helping the day feel welcoming, organised and inclusive.
This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.
Volunteer responsibilities may include:

Welcoming visitors and signposting activities

Supporting workshop facilitators and stall holders

Assisting with set-up and pack-down

Stewarding activities and helping guide the parade route

Helping manage information points
-
Supporting documentation (photos/video) where appropriate

Ensuring public spaces remain safe and accessible
Volunteers do not need prior event experience, but should be:

Friendly and approachable

Comfortable speaking with members of the public

Reliable and able to follow guidance

Supportive of inclusive, community-led events
Briefings will be provided ahead of the event, and volunteers will be part of a supportive team environment throughout the day.
This is an opportunity to be part of building a joyful, creative moment in the heart of Dursley, while gaining experience in community event delivery.

Job Requirements

Must be 18+ (or accompanied by a responsible adult if under 18)

Available for a briefing session prior to the event (week before)

Available for a minimum agreed shift on the event day (June 6th 2026)

Friendly, approachable and comfortable engaging with the public

Reliable and able to follow guidance from event coordinators

Supportive of inclusive, community-led events
No prior event experience is required. Training and guidance will be provided.
Volunteers should be able to spend extended periods standing or moving around outdoor public spaces. Reasonable adjustments will be made where possible - please let us know your access needs when applying.
Job Responsibilities

Welcome visitors and provide clear information about the event programme

Support workshop facilitators, stall holders and performers as needed

Assist with light set-up and pack-down tasks

Help steward activities and guide participants during the collective parade

Monitor shared spaces to ensure they remain safe, accessible and inclusive

Report any concerns or incidents to the event coordinators promptly
-
Contribute to a positive, friendly and supportive atmosphere throughout the day
Volunteers will work as part of a coordinated team and will receive a briefing before the event.
