Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and committed Holiday Sessional Worker to join our delivery team during our holiday programmes (Summer, Easter and other school holiday periods). Working hours are flexible, with opportunities to work up to 20 hours per week during holiday delivery periods.
Job Description
Service Rate: £14 per hour Location (London) The Holiday Sessional Worker will support the planning and delivery of high-quality activities across our holiday provision. Working alongside programme leads and facilitators, you will help deliver engaging sessions in areas such as arts, music, sports, mentoring, cooking, and personal development. You will be responsible for supporting young people's participation, ensuring their wellbeing and safety at all times, and contributing to a positive and structured environment. The role requires energy, initiative, and the ability to build strong and respectful relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds. This position is sessional and fixed-term for holiday delivery periods.
Job Requirements
Enhanced DBS Check: A valid Enhanced DBS (including barred list check) is required prior to commencing the role, in line with safeguarding and child protection regulations. Relevant Experience: Experience working with children or young people (aged 11-16) in a school, youth work, sports, arts, mentoring, or community setting is essential. This may include paid or voluntary experience. Commitment to Youth Development: A genuine passion for supporting young people's growth, wellbeing, and confidence is fundamental. We are looking for individuals who can inspire, motivate, and positively influence young participants. Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You must be able to build rapport quickly, manage group dynamics appropriately, and communicate clearly with colleagues and young people. Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities Deliver and Support Engaging Activities Assist in the delivery of structured and inclusive activities tailored to the needs and interests of young people. Support facilitators in workshops, group sessions, and enrichment activities while maintaining a safe and organised environment. Promote Positive Youth Development Provide encouragement, guidance, and appropriate pastoral support. Help young people build confidence, resilience, teamwork skills, and independence through structured engagement. Maintain a Safe and Inclusive Environment Support safeguarding procedures, supervise participants appropriately, and ensure health and safety policies are followed at all times. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring all young people feel respected and valued. Contribute to Team Delivery Attend team briefings and debriefs, communicate any concerns appropriately, and work collaboratively to maintain high-quality programme standards.
