The Community Engagement Manager will lead outreach and partnerships at our Creative Hub, strengthening community relationships and increasing participation in creative wellbeing programmes for children and young people (0–25). The role champions youth voice, co-production and inclusive access.

Job Description

The Community Engagement Manager is a part-time (22.5 hours per week) role based at Totton Creative Hub, reporting to the Artistic Director. The postholder will lead community outreach and engagement to ensure Fluid Motion's creative wellbeing programme reaches the children, young people (0-25) and families who need it most. This role is central to strengthening relationships between the hub and local residents, schools, health providers, youth services and cultural partners. The Manager will act as a key point of contact, responding to enquiries, gathering feedback and ensuring community voices shape the development of services. They will organise consultation activities, open days and events aligned with the charity's programme plan and theory of change, promoting inclusive and accessible participation. A core responsibility is increasing engagement and building referral pathways, particularly for marginalised or disadvantaged children and young people. The postholder will work collaboratively with partners to design and adapt creative activities in response to emerging needs, supporting recruitment of youth leaders and deepening community ownership of the hub. Championing youth voice and co-production is fundamental to the role. The Manager will develop youth governance structures over the next five years, including a Young Leaders programme, youth advisory representation and co-designed commissioning panels, ensuring young people have meaningful decision-making power. The role also includes monitoring and evaluation: tracking participation, analysing feedback and reporting on impact to partners and funders. The successful candidate will bring experience in community engagement, partnership working and supporting children and young people, alongside strong communication, organisational and data skills. An enhanced DBS check and local presence within 30 miles of Totton are required.

- Experience in community engagement, outreach or community development - Experience working with children and young people (0-25) - Strong partnership-building and communication skills - Experience facilitating workshops, consultations or events - Ability to gather and interpret data to demonstrate impact - Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently - Experience of managing people - Understanding of barriers faced by marginalised communities - Alignment with Fluid Motion's arts and mental health mission - Enhanced DBS and living within 30 miles of Totton

Job Responsibilities

- Lead community outreach and engagement for Totton Creative Hub - Build and maintain partnerships with schools, health services, youth and community organisations - Act as a key contact for community members, gathering feedback and responding to enquiries - Organise consultations, open days and community events - Increase participation and develop referral pathways - Champion youth voice and co-production, including supporting youth leadership structures - Contribute to programme development based on community insight - Monitor, analyse and report on engagement data and impact - Represent Fluid Motion at relevant external meetings and networks
