Job Description

Bow Street Museum of Crime and Justice (BSMCJ) is seeking an Evaluation Consultant to support their National Lottery Heritage Fund project 'Echoes from the Dock'. The successful consultant will be engaged to develop an evaluation framework for the overall project.

Job Requirements

Experience: It is expected that the appointed Evaluation Consultant will be able to demonstrate that they have the following experience, skills and knowledge: - Previous experience of producing Evaluation Frameworks and reports for National Lottery Heritage Fund projects. - An understanding of heritage and museum projects. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people around potentially sensitive topics. The Evaluation Framework should review the project against the National Lottery Heritage Fund approved purposes and ensure the capturing of evidence of success and project outcomes. The Evaluation Framework should be built around the aims of the project and designed to facilitate summative evaluation throughout, and at the end of the project, as well as continuous ongoing evaluation beyond the initial project.

Job Responsibilities

An experienced evaluation consultant is required to: - Create an Evaluation Framework for the project - Train the relevant staff and volunteers to carry out ongoing evaluation for the duration of the project and beyond. - Collect relevant data to measure the project's success and where necessary suggest improvements. - Work with the Project Lead, Project Curator and wider Museum Team to develop a monitoring and evaluation framework for the project, measuring its outcomes and impact, to establish key baseline data. - Develop an evaluation toolkit for use by the Museum Team and Volunteers. - Offer support and training to staff and volunteers to ensure they understand the purpose and value of robust evaluation, to provide baseline data for the overall assessment of the project. - Provide guidance on how to use evaluation learnings in the long term for the future resilience of Bow Street Museum of Crime and Justice.

The total expected budget for this role is up to £6,000 (excluding VAT) over the duration of the project. Please indicate to us how you would deliver the project within this budget.
