Job Description

Leeds based Fidget Theatre are looking for new trustees to join the organisation, play a part in shaping the charity's future and help us thrive. As Fidget Theatre celebrates 10 years making work for children and families we are looking for people to guide and support us to the next chapter, broadening our perspective and fuelling our ambition and vision for the company. Fidget Theatre make playful and witty theatre with a warm welcome to children and families. Founded and led by Co Artistic Directors Ruth Cooper-Rowan and Andrea Heaton, our collaborative processes ask thoughtful questions of the world in which we live with imagination and heart. We are experts in participatory theatre; each production we create contains friendly interaction inspired by theatre-in-education techniques. The audience takes on a role and solves a problem, deepening children's engagement and enjoyment and involving the whole family in a meaningful collective experience. This is a voluntary role. Job Requirements

We want to hear from a diverse range of people and are particularly interested in applicants with: - An interest in children's theatre - lived experience of disability - knowledge/experience of accessible arts practice - fundraising experience. You do not need previous board experience to apply for this role. This role is subject to a basic DBS check.

Job Responsibilities

Trustees will; - Attend quarterly in person meetings, plus approx 2-3 sub committee and special circumstance online meetings. 6-7 total per year. - Contribute to the strategic direction to the Charity. - Play a full and active part in Board meetings. - Keep up-to-date with the Charity's activities, ensuring that they are in line with its aims and objectives, and that they are for the public benefit. - Attend Fidget Theatre productions and events, where possible. - Be an ambassador and advocate for Fidget, promoting and championing our work, ambition, vision and objectives whenever possible. - Ensure the adequacy and renewal of company policies. - Ensure the Charity complies with company and charity law and the requirements of The Charity Commission. - Oversee financial management and reporting including cash flow and financial planning.
