Volunteer Contract Compliance Advisor

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to volunteer as a Contract & Compliance Advisor. This is an office based role - the location is our theatre, N14 4PE. It is an advisory role and does not involve ascting as Chickenshed's legal representative.

Job Description

About the Role
You will provide ongoing, practical support by reviewing contracts and related documentation, helping Chickenshed understand risks, obligations, and key terms and supporting good contractual and compliance practice.

Key Responsibilites
Review Contracts, agreements and supplier documentation
Identify potential risks, liabilities and areas requiring clarification
Highlight key terms, conditions, and small print in clear, accessible language
Provide guidance on compliance, procurement, and contractual best practice
Support staff to understand contractual implications ( non legal advice)
Offer input on negotiations where appropriate

Skills and Experience
We are particularly interested in volunteers who have experience on one or more of the following areas:-
Law ( eg solicitor, legal counsel, contract law experience)
Compliance, governance, or risk management
Procurement, supplier management or commercial contracts
Negotiating, drafting or reviewing contracts

You will also bring
Excellent attention to detail
The abiility to interpret and explain complex documents
A practical solutions - focused approach
Professional integrity and discretion

Job Requirements
