Job Description
Seabright Live is excited to recruit a Company Venue Manager for critically-acclaimed immersive production 'Trainspotting Live', returning to Edinburgh Fringe this summer.
Deadline for applications: Friday 27 March 2026. We reserve the right to close applications early, should a suitable candidate be found.
Location: EICC, Morrison Street, Edinburgh (we are looking to engage somebody who is already based within commutable distance of Edinburgh and cannot offer accommodation or any travel allowances as part of the engagement).
Dates: Four-week contract: 3 - 30 August 2026, core working hours during the performance run will be 4pm to 10.30pm with additional work required around understudy rehearsal schedules and other ad hoc production needs. Days off 5, 12, 19, 24 August.
Fee/Allowances: £575 per week for four weeks. £208 pay in lieu of holiday due upon completion of engagement.
Job Requirements
Role Outline:
- Act as the link between the Company Stage Manager (CSM), FOH, Box Office and Security.
- Responsible for stock maintenance and preparation in relation to FOH show elements including wristbands, programmes, signage and recorded information.
- Responsible for opening the house and assisting getting the audience in and the shows up on time.
- Work with the CSM on understudy rehearsals, schedules and performances, including watching these where possible.
- Work with the other show staff to maintain safe working practices and to notify the Head of Production where you have concerns about anything which prejudices safe working.
- Assist the CSM with seating setup and adaptations for access patrons as may be necessary.
- Work with the CSM to compile and distribute nightly show and FOH reports.
- Learn the CSM track and be able to cover them in case of illness / unavailability.
Job Responsibilities
Personal Qualities:
- Experience working within a theatre setting, and interest in the production process.
- Strong understanding of technical and operational requirements for theatre, preferably with some experience of stage management and/or technical show roles.
- Well organised and a great communicator, able to interact professionally with venue staff, security, and audience members.
- Working knowledge of theatre health & safety procedures.
- Caring approach to the production and strong problem-solving skills.
- Flexible and pro-active with ability to prioritise and respond to rapidly evolving priorities.
- Strong interest in theatre, and a good awareness of industry practice and standards.
- Candidates must already have the right to live and work in the UK.
