The Role
The IT Officer will provide technical support, maintain systems and work closely with the Trust's Managed Service Provider to keep the technology environment secure, efficient and reliable. In this role, you will troubleshoot hardware and software issues across PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals and common applications, supporting users in person or remotely. You will carry out routine maintenance and security tasks such as updates, patching, backups and system checks, while also managing user accounts in platforms like Active Directory or Azure. The role includes setting up and configuring new equipment, maintaining the Trust's network and resolving connectivity issues, managing IT asset records and warranties, supporting IT projects including cyber security work, and producing clear documentation to assist colleagues.
About You
You will bring demonstrable technical skills and confidence in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues. Your understanding of system maintenance, security practices and routine operational processes will enable you to maintain a secure and dependable IT environment. You will be comfortable managing user administration tasks in systems such as Active Directory or Azure and confident in deploying and configuring IT equipment and applications. A good grasp of networking will help you monitor infrastructure effectively and resolve connectivity challenges as they arise. Strong organisational skills are key and you must have a supportive, proactive, solutions focused mindset to allow you to contribute meaningfully to ongoing IT projects and user and service improvements.
