Job Summary
The position will be a workroom assistant and production machinist working with the Head of Soft Hats at Stephen Jones Millinery. It will be a part time position for 2 days a week. 10am - 6pm are the working hours
Job Description
You will be required to assist the head of department with the manufacture of high fashion hats, including both small batch runs and one-offs for private clients. The main functions are listed below. You will be cutting out material form existing patterns. You will be using an industrial machine to construct the hats. You will need hand sewing skills for details on pieces.
Job Requirements
You will need to have the ability to cut material quickly, to a high degree of accuracy based on direction from the head of the department. You will to be competent with a flat bed industrial sewing machine. Experience of millinery is not required but would be a plus. Workshop experience is desirable
Job Responsibilities
The position will be for 2 days a week 10am - 6pm and there is opportunity for more work dependent on the season.
