Job Summary

We are seeking someone with a global majority background and lived experience of neurodivergence (particularly autism) to join our board to provide insight into the intersections of these identities and support the board's decision making processes.

Job Description

Creatively Autistic Together are seeking a new member of our board who can provide lived experience understanding of the intersection of global majority and neurodivergent identities. We are a small creative support organisation offering TTRPG based sessions for adults and young people, largely in Lincolnshire, though we occasionally take touring sessions elsewhere. All our board members and practitioners have lived experience of neurodivergence, and it's important to us that our work is guided and led by those we are working with. So often, neurodivergent and disabled people's voices are ignored in the conversations about their provision and care. We recognise that the experience and expression of every neurodivergent person is different, and that one experience cannot be compared to every neurodivergent person. However, we also recognise the unique intersection of global majority and neurodivergent identities; common misconceptions; differing cultural experience and social presentation; and likelihood of late- and/or mis-diagnosis. We are seeking someone to help guide our organisational decisions with sensitivity to these experiences and an understanding of this intersectionality. Our board meets online every three months to review the organisations current practice and make decisions on policy, practice and funding.

Job Requirements

**Essential** - Be from a global majority background - Have lived experience of neurodivergence, and a personal understanding of the neurodivergent experience (we will prioritise candidates who identify as autistic, though we recognise the variety of neurodivergent experiences and expressions) - Be passionate about creative support for neurodivergent individuals - Be proactive, engaged and willing to share your experiences **Desireable** - Experienced in managing accounts or with company law - Understanding/experience of managing small creative organisations - Experience of living in Lincolnshire or surrounding areas

Job Responsibilities

- Attend online board meetings every three months - Be proactive and engaged, willing to support company practice and development - Support decision making and manage conflicts of interest - Support company administration and board actions where necessary
