Job Summary

The Great Big Climate Circus is a four-year creative climate action programme for Gloucestershire, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. This role will lead Creative Sustainability’s work in a multi-sector partnership advocating for youth leadership in climate.

Job Description

Create a joyful, inclusive climate and nature action movement across Gloucestershire, by empowering young people and communities through fun, creativity, and grassroots leadership: Planning and Delivery: Working with the partners to timetable events, ensure activities are resourced and deliverable. You will have support from an Activities Lead and members of the wider CS team. Supporting youth leadership and paid roles: Identifying opportunities for young people across all aspects of the project - creative, practical and governance roles - support young people to come on board and plan their workplans and commitments. Leading inclusive aspects of partnership development and support: Helping to develop the partnership in areas of coproduction, evaluation, youth voice and participation, running meetings and training opportunities in ways that ensure inclusivity and equitable participation. Ensuring a youth voice throughout: Advocating for youth voice on governance within the project, to network and promote the project widely, and to produce the Youth Voice and Participation Climate Action Toolkit - a key output of the project. Evaluation and Reporting: You will lead the partnership on use of inclusive creative evaluation, working with an external consultant to assess the success of the project. You will prepare narrative reports for the Lottery Climate Action Fund. Compliance: You will work with the CS team and partners to ensure the project is fully compliant with the law and upholds best practice in Safeguarding, H&S, and environmental impact. Staff Management: You will directly line manage the CS Activities Lead, and work with the wider CS youth team to support young people as needed to ensure their full participation. Budget: You will monitor Creative Sustainability's delivery budget and work with the funding team to generate additional funding for community action projects identified as the project progresses.

Job Requirements

It is essential that you have the skills and experience to Manage a complex workload with competing pressures Be highly organised and systematic Make decisions with others in complex partnership scenarios Hold multiple concepts (values, principles, practices and purposes) and ensure they are at the forefront of decision making Work independently to prioritise busy and complex responsibilities Line manage staff and supporting staff with workplans and their own prioritisation Have a passion for youth voice and advocacy Manage large budgets with financial record keeping and reporting Demonstrable skills communicating with stakeholders at all levels, including participants, partners and funders Be confident in speaking publicly to include presentations and press coverage Manage receiving, sifting and using a high volume of information Communicate effectively in writing Have excellent digital skills Hold a full UK driving license and willingness to drive as part of job
