Job Description
We're expanding our team to support the running of our varied and busy events offering aboard The Golden Hinde. This role would suit someone with a background in hospitality, customer service, or bartending with good availability for shifts on evenings and weekends. Shifts will range from 4 - 6 hours in length with the majority offered in the evenings. You'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of a wide variety of events including music gigs, theatre shows, private parties, museum lates, quiz nights and anything in between. You will be offered shifts on a monthly basis, with the further offering of shorter notice shifts. Flexibility in this role is essential to accommodate changing event requirements. A minimum of 15 hours a month will be guaranteed with additional hours likely, based on our evolving event schedule. This role has keyholder responsibilities. Training will be provided. Please note that The Golden Hinde is a unique historic vessel. Temperatures and weather conditions may vary. The work can be physically demanding, involving uneven surfaces, ladders, stairs, and occasional confined spaces. Flexibility, resilience, adaptability and a strong level of physical fitness are essential. Job Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: - Experience working in a hospitality environment / on event delivery - Physically able to work onboard a ship (uneven surfaces, stairs, ladders) - Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions - Available to work regular evenings and weekends - Knowledge of food hygiene and safe handling - Comfortable working independently, proactively and under pressure - Hands-on approach with a practical, solutions-focused mindset - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: - Experience coordinating catering or bar operations - Interest in heritage, history, and/or immersive events - First Aid or safeguarding certification (or willingness to train) - Experience working in a small, multi-functional team
