Job Summary

Development Manager for artist-led community radio station Resonance FM. Lead trusts & foundations pipeline, grow individual giving and communicate impact. £34–36k at 0.8 FTE (equivalent to £43-45k) hybrid (min. 2 days onsite SE1).

Job Description

Resonance FM is seeking a Development Manager to strengthen and grow the station's charitable income. Working closely with the CEO and small staff team, the post-holder will take responsibility for building and managing fundraising activity across trusts and foundations, individual giving and supporter communications.

The role focuses on developing and maintaining a structured pipeline of funding applications, delivering high-quality bids and reports, and building relationships with supporters and donors. The Development Manager will also help communicate the impact of Resonance's work to funders and audiences, drawing together information about the station's artistic activity and public benefit.

Resonance is a small organisation where staff take ownership of broad areas of work and develop them over time. The role will suit someone who is comfortable working independently, identifying opportunities and shaping how fundraising operates within an artist-led cultural organisation.

The postholder will contribute to growing individual support through mailing lists, donor communications and fundraising initiatives, and may occasionally support fundraising events, appeals or campaigns.

Resonance broadcasts experimental arts and culture and supports hundreds of volunteer broadcasters each year. The Development Manager plays an important role in translating this activity into clear narratives for funders and supporters, helping secure the resources that sustain the station's work.

The role is 4 days a week and hybrid, based at Resonance studios in Southwark with a minimum of two days per week onsite.

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of fundraising activity within a small organisation and translate Resonance's artistic work into compelling narratives for funders and supporters.

You may have experience in a fundraising, development or trusts role, ideally with some responsibility for writing or contributing to funding applications or reports. You should be comfortable managing deadlines, maintaining organised records and working with a pipeline of opportunities.

Strong written communication skills and good judgement are essential. You should enjoy working independently while collaborating closely with colleagues across the organisation.

An interest in experimental arts, culture or community media is important, and a willingness to learn about Resonance's work and audiences.

Experience with mailing lists, supporter communications, donor stewardship or impact reporting is desirable but not essential.
