Job Summary

We are seeking a Touring Technician to join the UK tour of Pleasure Incorporated, a one woman show about sex work by Jemima Foxtrot.

Job Description

We are seeking a Touring Technician to join the UK tour of Pleasure Incorporated, a one-woman theatre show written and performed by Jemima Foxtrot.

Pleasure Incorporated combines poetry, video art, movement and an original score to explore sex work, financial precarity, the corporate world and surviving childhood sexual abuse (CSA). Drawing on Jemima Foxtrot's experiences of escorting, the piece imagines what it might look like if sex work were treated like an ordinary office job. Set in a surreal corporate environment, the show uses lyrical storytelling, projection and sound design to challenge stigma and open dialogue around bodily autonomy and trauma recovery.

The show premiered in Berlin and is now being redeveloped for a 7-venue UK tour in May 2026, supported by a National Lottery Project Grant from Arts Council England.

We are looking for a creative, practical and collaborative technician to support the technical delivery of the tour. The role will involve attending technical rehearsals, travelling with the show, operating the performance, and supporting the smooth running of the production across multiple venues.

The technician will travel with the performer and small production team between tour locations and will also be responsible for driving the set and equipment between venues.

Accommodation during the tour will be arranged and covered by the producer and may include a mix of hotels/Airbnbs and occasional stays with host contacts. The touring technician will always have their own private bedroom.

We warmly welcome applications from early-career practitioners and from people from underrepresented backgrounds.

Fee: £2400 (£160 per day, 15 days between 7th May - 1st June.) Some days will be longer than others- the most we expect is 9 hours in a day, although some days will be significantly shorter.

Job Requirements

Applicants should:

- Have experience/training in theatre technical work, touring productions, or small-scale performance.
- Be practical, organised and proactive.
- Be confident operating performance equipment and troubleshooting basic technical issues.
- Be comfortable working closely with a small touring team.
- Be comfortable with touring travel and flexible accommodation arrangements.

Essential:

- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own vehicle.
- Confidence with long-distance driving.

We particularly welcome applications from people whose backgrounds or lived experiences are underrepresented in the theatre sector.

Job Responsibilities

The Touring Technician will:

- Attend technical rehearsals at the start of the project.
- Act as touring technician for the May 2026 UK tour (7 venues).
- Manage get-ins and get-outs at each venue.
- Operate the show during performances.
- Liaise with venue technical teams to deliver the production.
- Ensure equipment, set and video elements are set up safely and consistently.
- Drive the touring team and set between venues.
- The tour will largely travel together between venues. At times the technician may also be asked to drive the performer and small touring team (including Jemima's partner and baby) between locations. Travel time will be paid as part of the role.
