Job Summary

Play a vital role in enriching the lives of children and young people through dance, creative expression and supportive mental health initiatives.

Job Description

Streetz Ahead is a dance and mental health charity committed to improving physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing. We work closely with children, families, schools and communities, placing care, safeguarding and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.

This flexible and dynamic volunteering role offers an exciting opportunity and experience to support live events, performances and community programmes throughout the year. Volunteers help create safe, joyful and inclusive spaces where children can build confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging through movement and creativity.

As a volunteer, you may be involved in a variety of activities depending on the event or programme, including:

Supporting dance and creative workshops by assisting staff and helping children engage safely and confidently

Chaperoning children and young people during rehearsals, performances and events in professional theatre settings

Providing backstage support during shows, ensuring children feel calm, supported and organised

Assisting with the planning and delivery of Streetz Fest, our annual outdoor festival featuring live performances, children's activities, food and clothing stalls

Supporting our annual children's discos and other community celebration events

Volunteering at outdoor educational and wellbeing programmes

Helping to set up, steward and welcome families and community members at events

Supporting inclusive participation, particularly for children with additional needs or emotional challenges

Working collaboratively with staff to maintain a safe, inclusive and positive environment

This volunteering opportunity has flexible timings - you can volunteer just at our events e.g. once a month, or volunteer at our sessions on a weekly basis.
