Job Description

We are a creative education company delivering engaging after-school animation clubs for primary school pupils (ages 7-11).

We are currently looking to collaborate with enthusiastic, reliable freelance animation tutors to deliver high-quality sessions in schools.

As a tutor, you will lead pupils through the full animation process - from planning and storyboarding to designing and producing their own short films using drawing, LEGO, Play-Doh, and stop-motion software.

This opportunity is ideal for artists, animators, filmmakers, or educators who enjoy working with young people and are passionate about inspiring the next generation of storytellers.

We provide all equipment, lesson plans, and learning resources to support delivery. Tutors are responsible for delivering sessions in their own style while maintaining the quality and structure of the programme.

Job Requirements

No formal qualifications are required. We're simply looking to collaborate with individuals who:

Are confident working with young people

Have strong communication skills

Can commit to delivering sessions over an agreed project period

Bring a fun, engaging, and inspiring approach to working with children and the arts

As an added bonus, you may have experience or a background in animation, filmmaking, photography, or videography, and experience working with young people - although this is not essential. You do not need to be a qualified teacher.

Compliance & Requirements

As sessions take place within school environments, tutors will need to hold (or be willing to obtain) the following:

Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service preferred)

Public liability insurance

Safeguarding training certificate

Paediatric first aid certificate

Prohibition from teaching check

If you do not currently have these in place, we're happy to guide you through the process of obtaining them.

Job Responsibilities

During the Summer Term (April-July), we are looking to collaborate with tutors who have availability across 3-5 weekdays (Monday to Friday) to deliver after-school sessions.

Sessions typically run for 90 minutes, starting from around 3:30pm, with each club running for 10-14 weeks.

Tutors are free to confirm the number of sessions they wish to take on, depending on their availability and other commitments.

In addition to delivering sessions, tutors may choose to support the programme by:

Preparing for sessions using the provided resources

Uploading pupils' completed work to our platform

Attending a short optional weekly online check-in to review sessions and plan ahead

These activities are designed to support consistency and quality across the programme, while allowing tutors flexibility in how they manage their time and delivery.

Tutors are paid £60 per session on a freelance, self-employed basis.

As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for managing your own tax.
