Job Description
Working closely with the Communications Manager, you will help ensure a consistently high standard of customer service and communication across multiple channels. Your responsibilities will include supporting customer enquiries, assisting with ticketing queries and refund processes, and helping manage communications before, during and after events.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working across large-scale cultural and seasonal events while helping to deliver clear, engaging and effective communications to thousands of customers.
The role begins in May 2026 and runs through to January 2027, with varying weekly commitments depending on the time of year.
- May and June - 24 hours (3 days) a week
- July to December - 40 hours a week (5 days) a week
- Weekend work required around Kendal Calling (late July/early August) and our festive Light Trails (mid November - December)
We are looking for someone with excellent written communication skills who can adapt their tone for different audiences, from customer enquiries to operational messaging. Strong organisational ability, attention to detail, and the confidence to work collaboratively across teams are essential.

Job Requirements
Essential Criteria:
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and purposes.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Excellent organisational skills, able to multitask, take ownership of specific areas, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with tools such as Excel.
Confident, approachable, and able to build positive working relationships.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a customer service role.
Enthusiastic about developing and enhancing their own communications skills.
Job Responsibilities
Support the Communications Manager with all customer communications across the Light Trails portfolio and Kendal Calling. Maintaining a consistently high standard of customer service.
Assist with ticketing queries and refund management for both Light Trails and Kendal Calling.
Identify and help implement improvements to enhance the reach, quality, and impact of communications across both brands, including contributing to accessibility initiatives and the on-site customer experience.
Support the Communications Manager with on-site communications, working on-site at the festival from Tuesday through to Monday.
Help set up and support the management of the Info Point at Kendal Calling across the five days that it's operational.
Assist with after-show data reporting and the management of outstanding customer enquiries.
Support the Communications Manager with recruitment, including assisting with seasonal staff interviews.
