Job Description
Nottingham Playhouse is seeking an exceptional Customer Experience Manager to lead our Front of House and commercial operations, ensuring every visitor enjoys an inclusive, welcoming and outstanding experience.
This is a key leadership role within our Operations and Commercial team, responsible for shaping the end-to-end customer journey across all public-facing touchpoints, while driving income generation and commercial performance.
You will lead and develop the Customer Experience team, oversee all Front of House operations, and manage Food & Beverage services to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences. You will also act as Duty Manager for performances and events, ensuring safe, compliant and well-run operations.
This is a pivotal leadership role at the heart of our organisation, blending people management, operations, and commercial strategy

Job Requirements
We are looking for someone with:
Proven experience leading teams to deliver excellent customer service
Front of House or venue management experience (theatre or events desirable)
Experience managing Food & Beverage operations and driving sales
Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to remain calm and professional in a live environment
A proactive, flexible and "can-do" attitude
Passion for theatre and engaging with diverse audiences
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of an exceptional customer experience across all visitor touchpoints
Manage Front of House operations, show delivery, and Food & Beverage services
Drive commercial income through F&B, merchandise and events
Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing Customer Experience team
Oversee staffing, rotas, training and performance management
Act as Duty Manager for performances and events
Ensure compliance with health & safety, licensing, and operational procedures
Monitor financial performance, budgets, and KPIs
Respond to customer feedback and continuously improve service delivery
