Job Summary
Job Description
The Front of House team plays a vital role in delivering a seamless and safe audience experience. You'll manage audience flow, check tickets, and support the Technical Operator with the setup of the show. This is a hands-on role requiring calm under pressure and clear communication.
DATES: 5 - 31 August 2026
PAY: £13.45 per hour
SHIFTS: Shifts will be available everyday and will be broken up into blocks depending on the day and people's availability. You do not have to be available for all the dates - we understand people may only be at the Fringe for set periods of time. We welcome everyone to apply, but will prefer applicants who can take on a minimum number of days throughout the Fringe.
Longer days: 10:30 - 22:30 (broken up into 2-3 shifts)
Shorter days: 10:30 - 21:00 (broken up into 2-3 shifts)
Job Requirements
Person specification:
Reliable, calm, adaptable, and responsive in high-pressure situations
Comfortable working in public facing roles
Strong communication skills
Experience or interest of working in theatre, venue, hospitality or during festivals
Ability to respectfully and emphatically interact with a diverse range of people
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
To be a principal point of welcome to audience members
To fully understand and comprehend Darkfield Events briefings for each show
To check audience members are arriving for the right show at the right time
To provide a welcoming environment to all visitors to the site and to make yourself familiar with the surrounding site
To uphold the highest standard of customer service
To assist in ensuring the safety and comfort of members of the public and staff
To deal effectively with any customer problems and enquiries
To actively promote DARKFIELD's work
To assist Technical Managers where needed with show turnarounds and to make sure you communicate well with them
Assist the Tech Managers, Site Managers or Producers where needed
