Cracking Slate is a theatre company dedicated to nurturing confidence, creativity and collaboration in young people. We put adventure, play and creativity at the heart of everything we do. We want to empower young people to become the directors of their own story, supporting them to dive into their imagination and work together to express themselves and their own ideas.

About the Project
Voyagers is a new interplanetary adventure for children aged 6-11 and their families about dreams and aspirations. The questions we want to ask with the show are: What is our future on planet Earth going to be like? How can you be the change you want to see in the world? Is the grass really always greener on the other side? The show will be set in space and we are keen to explore new ways of portraying space in a studio theatre space.

The project builds on our commitment to creating high-quality theatre for Key Stage 2 audiences, an age group often underserved by the sector. Voyagers will be a participatory show where the audience will be involved in the storytelling process, e.g. choosing which planet to visit.

The initial R&D will run for 4 days: Monday 20th April - Thursday 23rd April (9am-5pm). Further development work is pencilled for the autumn. Fee: £560 (4 days @ £140p.d.)
