Trapped in Zone One is a London-based organisation dedicated to connecting with communities through creativity. Using a wide range of artistic practices, the organisation provides engaging and accessible initiatives that inspire collaboration and foster community spirit. It's mission is to empower individuals and groups by promoting cultural expression and community unity. By championing creativity, Trapped in Zone One aims to make a positive difference in the lives of the people it serves.
This is a volunteer role for a Board Member with Trapped in Zone One. As a Board Member, we are looking for an individual with one or more of the following areas of expertise:
Arts expertise, including the development of partnerships
Knowledge and experience of the community sector with art setting
Financial management and fundraising expertise within the art sector
Playing a key role in providing strategic direction, ensuring governance, and helping to shape the organisation's goals.
The candidate will participate in monthly meetings, advising on organisational policies, fundraising strategy, and collaborate with other members to foster impactful projects. The support and insights will help Trapped in Zone One in mission alignment and continued contribution to community growth through creative initiatives.
Job Requirements
The Board Member will support the work of Trapped in Zone One and provide guidance and strategic governance. With day-to-day operations are led by the Head and Founder, the Board Member relationship will be a voluntary partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected. We are looking for an individual who shares our passion for our practice.

Job Responsibilities
The responsibility of the Board Member will include:
Contributing to, reviewing and updating policies and strategic plans.
Acting as an ambassador and advocating for the organisation's mission and vision.
Supporting our fundraising and networking through the identification and connection with potential donors and partners.
Board Member will be expected to attend quarterly board meetings as monthly update meetings remotely.
Expected to visit activities and events throughout the year and where appropriate, attend training seminars and conferences on behalf of the organisation.
We estimate the time commitment of a Board Member is approximately 2-4 hours per month.
This position is voluntary and you will receive no remuneration for this work, but reasonable expenses (travel fare to meetings, lunch etc) may be reimbursed.
