Job Summary
Job Description
If you have a passion for theatre and are looking for a way to support arts and culture in Kingston, consider joining our Board of Trustees. Board membership provides valuable opportunities to share your experience, provide counsel, and support our mission to entertain audiences, elevate artists, and empower community.
Job Requirements
The Rose is a producing theatre, and our Trustees are
passionate about theatre and the arts more widely along
with their impact in the community. There are many
perspectives on this, and different skills and lived
experiences can be relevant to the role. We would actively
encourage applications from people who identify as from
the Global Majority. We are also interested to hear from
people who see the role as contributing to their own
development. It is not essential to have experience of
sitting on a board or of being a trustee of a charity, though
it may be an advantage. It is also not necessary to have
reached any particular stage in your career, nor a
background in the arts. An enthusiastic interest in theatre,
and a commitment to the local community, especially as a
resident or through involvement with local business, are
more important.
Job Responsibilities
Candidates must be able to show that they share our commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging, environmental sustainability and safeguarding, which may be because of their own experience.
Time commitment - board meetings lasting approximately 2 hours are held 6 times per year.
