Job Summary
Job Description
The Jewish Museum London is building a new strategy and programme that will lead its transformation over the next 5 years as it tests out innovative new models for exhibitions, displays, learning and engagement in its new dedicated temporary space in JW3, building towards a new permanent site in East London planned to open in 2030. Learning and community engagement are central to the museum's future.
This role will devise and deliver informal learning and engagement programmes for communities including families, young people and community groups as well as contributing to delivery of the schools programme. The ideal candidate will be creative, energetic and hands-on with an audience focused approach to devising fun and engaging participatory activity. The current informal programme offer comprises family activities delivered in community and cultural settings (such as the British Museum, London Transport Museum and Westminster Abby) and a dementia friendly outreach programme. As part of our development and expansion, this role will develop and pilot a new youth and community strand of activity in close collaboration with the Collections Engagement Officer.
Reporting to the Director of Learning the appointed candidate will ideally have experience and knowledge of participatory practice and co-creation within the museum, heritage or community sector. Above all you will have a creative, can-do approach to developing and delivering activity in a wide variety of settings. This is an exciting opportunity to join a strong and committed team and to help devise a programme for a re-imagined Jewish Museum.

About Jewish Museum London
Jewish Museum London tells the story of the history and heritage of Jewish people in Britain through universal themes of migration, family, faith and culture. The museum has undergone substantial positive change over the past two years, moving out of our Camden site and moving to a ‘Museum without Walls’ model. The museum is building a new strategy that will lead its transformation over the next 10 years.
