Job Description

Role purpose:
To lead the organisation into its next phase: converting momentum, credibility and sector backing into significant new funding to unlock the next stage of work with partners to secure a space to pilot at scale in London and continue the work of the UK network and progress the asks from our forthcoming report.
The Executive Director will be ReStage's senior executive lead and primary external representative. They will operate with delegated authority, agreed through an initial plan, and will be accountable for
unlocking an initial £500k+ of funding.
To organise and prepare papers for quarterly UK Hub network meetings and monthly steering group.
This is an executive leadership role focused initially on fundraising with scope to extend into building a
team and partnerships to secure a space to pilot at scale in London once further funds are secured.

Contract & Fee:
Contract type: Fixed-term contract for services (or a secondment)
Time commitment: 4 days per week based at the National Theatre Green Store in Southwark (with flexibility to work remotely one day a week)
Fee: £40,000 (inc. VAT) for the 9-month term (equivalent to c.£66,500 per annum full-time equivalent)
We are looking for someone London based for whom this would be their main professional commitment

Oversees:
Fundraiser based at National Theatre (available 1 day a week for the first two months of this contract)

9 months (targeting a June start)

Job Requirements

Person profile
This role will suit someone with a strong track record in fundraising, partnerships or start-up leadership, who is comfortable operating without a large in-house team and leading through credibility and influence. A reputation and network with funders, industry sponsors or public bodies will be particularly valuable. Experience in
sustainability, circular economy or cultural infrastructure is helpful but not essential.

The Executive Director will take full day-to-day executive leadership of ReStage. As funding is secured, they will build a team and establish practical systems for delivery, reporting and
coordination. In the initial phase, the Executive Director will hold responsibility for core organisational administration, including basic bookkeeping, grant administration and reporting, CIC compliance and governance papers. They will work with ReStage's accountant on VAT returns and annual accounts.

Job Responsibilities

Fundraising and investment (primary focus initially to unlock ability for delivery at scale)
The Executive Director will use this initial 9 months to secure £500k in grants and sponsorship to secure a core team for the next two years. They will have access to support in the ReLondon team to work on European and UKRI grant funding for R&D work as well as support from the National Theatre's fundraising and
development team to progress grant applications. They will progress discussions with industry sponsors and
partners, and lead the delivery of events for potential funders and sponsors with support from Deputy Mayor for Culture and the Culture team. They will work to translate ReStage's report and evidence into clear, investable propositions. By the time this role is appointed we will have a fundraising strategy developed for the
Exec Director to shape into a plan they're ready to lead.
