Dancers Boutique is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and proactive individual to assist with the daily running of the store two days/14 hours a week. These days of the week can be flexible, but the successful applicant must be available to work a minimum of two Saturdays a month and to cover holidays as needed. A typical day at the shop would consistently of a seven hour shift from 10.00 to 17.00.

The closing date for this role is 23.59 on 30 April 2026.

Responsibilities

Support and lead on daily operations, including opening and closing the store
Take responsibility for store operations and act as the manager on duty when the store manager is absent
Provide outstanding customer service to customers in the shop and provide them with the correct products for their needs
Train other employees and lead a small team of retail assistants to deliver best practice customer service and shoe fitting
Monitor and manage stock levels, ordering from suppliers if necessary
Ensure the store is presentable at all times and advise on the merchandising of products and displays

Person specification

Essential:

Aged 18 or over
Available to work two days a week, including a minimum of two Saturdays a month
Previous retail or customer-facing experience, preferably in a small business
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Resourceful with good problem-solving abilities
Good communication skills and enjoys meeting new people
Confident and personable with good emotional intelligence

Desirable:

Managerial experience in a retail environment
Has previously worked in dance and the performing arts
