Job Description

From performing with the Pet Shop Boys at the MTV EMAs and touring international concert halls to pioneering our award-winning Music in Mind programme for health and wellbeing, our purpose is to transform lives through the power of music. To ensure we continue to deliver on our mission, we are currently seeking new Trustees with expertise in:

Legal: Providing critical oversight and strategic guidance on governance and contracts.

Fundraising & Philanthropy: Securing the investment needed for our community and creative work.

The Commercial Music World: Providing experience from the commercial music sector to bring constructive challenge, strategic support, and valuable industry networks.

Job Requirements

We are looking for individuals with expertise in one of the following areas:

FUNDRAISING We are particularly
interested in talking to someone who
brings a network among potential
philanthropic donors (possibly including
corporates, foundations, and high net
worth individuals), and who will actively
use their networks to make introductions
to build enthusiasm, which will sustain and
grow our impact.
COMMERCIAL MUSIC WORLD We're
seeking an experienced professional from
the commercial music sector who can
bring constructive challenge, strategic
support, and valuable industry networks
to help the organisation grow and thrive.
LEGAL We are seeking someone with
broad legal expertise. This does not need
to be specifically in charity law, as we can
draw on specialist external advice where
required.

5 Board meetings in Manchester, plus national
events, and concerts - with hybrid meetings
an option.

Job Responsibilities

Sustaining Growth: Play an active role in
revenue generation to achieve our vision
and purpose, helping connect us with
philanthropic networks in Manchester, the
UK and beyond.
Governance: Encourage high standards
of propriety and oversight of activities in
line with relevant regulatory and fiduciary
requirements, risk assessment and
mitigation; have a clear understanding
of the role of Trustees and commit to
the Nolan Principles. Prior experience
as a Charity trustee is not required: a full
induction will be provided.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion: Creating
more equitable access, championing
diversity and inclusion within all
Camerata's work to better reflect society
as a whole.
Risk Management: Guide Manchester
Camerata's attitude to risk, in accordance
with its duties to stakeholders.
Resource Management: Promote the
efficient and effective use of all resources
to ensure value for money and to
maximise Manchester Camerata's impact.
