Role Overview
The Technical Stage Manager (TSM) will oversee the technical and stage management delivery of the production, working both in and out of the rehearsal room as required.
They will work independently and collaboratively with venue technicians and crew, running the stage during performances and supporting the smooth delivery of the production alongside the Creative Director (Sid Akbar), Director, and Producer.
Key Dates
Bradford rehearsals (Bradford Arts Centre)
Pre rehearsal preparation: from mid May 2026
Rehearsals: week commencing 25 May 2026 (4 full days ( 8hrs) - 26-29th)
Technical day: 27 May 2026 ( 8 hrs)
Rehearsals: 1-5 June 2026 (2 full days tba -8hrs per day)
Production week: 8-10 June 2026 ( 3 fully days 8hrs)
Bradford performance run (Bradford Arts Centre)
Opening night: 11 June 2026
Performances: 11-13 June 2026
Press night: TBC
Additional tour dates
Calderdale: one performance between 24-27 July 2026
stage@leeds: October 2026 (date tbc)
Liverpool: TBC November 2026
Fee
£600 per week
Based on a three-week contract
Includes a combination of full and half days across rehearsal and performance periods across 2026.
Expenses
The production is ideally seeking a TSM who lives within a 25 mile radius of Bradford Arts Centre and can either be based locally or commute to the venue throughout the rehearsal period and performance run. Any overnight accommodation and travel expenses must be discussed with, and agreed in advance by, the Creative Lead and Producer.

Job Requirements
The Technical Stage Manager (TSM) oversees all technical and stage management for the production, working in and out of the rehearsal room. They collaborate with venue technicians and crew, running the stage during performances alongside the Creative Director, Director, and Producer.
The TSM ensures all production elements - set, props, costume, and technical systems - are consistently maintained to a high standard. They lead and train any technical support team, establishing clear processes for show running and upkeep.
A strong communicator and proactive problem-solver, the TSM manages a technically nuanced production featuring immersive and responsive elements. They coordinate sound, lighting, projection, and cueing systems, ensuring seamless integration and reliable operation.
The production includes a detailed sound design and practical-led lighting approach, with cues and transitions requiring precise coordination.
Job Responsibilities
Rehearsal & Production Management
The TSM supports rehearsal and production management, overseeing room setups, compiling the calling book, hour maand contributing to a production bible for future touring.
Show Running
They run the stage during performances, lead technical rehearsals with the creative team, and manage show calls, QLab transitions, and any emergency situations.
Communication & Reporting
They coordinate communication across the company, distributing rehearsal notes, daily calls, and show reports accurately and on time.
Wellbeing & Pastoral Care
The TSM works with the Producer to support company wellbeing, identifying and escalating any welfare concerns promptly.
Health & Safety
Responsibilities include adhering to procedures, contributing to risk assessments, and reporting incidents appropriately.
Props & Technical Oversight
They collaborate on sourcing, maintaining, and tracking props, costume, and set dressing, overseeing storage, transport, and post-production returns
