Job Summary
Job Description
FINANCE & COMPLIANCE:
Provide strategic financial oversight for the charity, ensuring that BCT uses funding and income reasonably through credible financial management.
Support the Executive Director by reviewing financial reports, management accounts, and cashflow forecasts quarterly.
Play a leading role in the finance sub-committee, guiding discussions and focusing the Board on key financial issues.
Ensure the organisation meets all financial, legal, contractual, and funding agreements, including accountability to funders (including Arts Council England), Companies House, the Charity Commission, and auditors.
BOARD MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contribute to the organisation's strategic planning in ollaboration with other Trustees and BCT's Senior Management Team.
Ensure the organisation's vision, mission, and aims are sustained and developed.
Ensure business, delivery, and financial plans support BCT's vision.
Actively promote and own the organisational values, including ensuring the wellbeing of the team and other trustees.
Safeguard the reputation of Black Country Touring and declare any conflicts of interest and help manage and mitigate risk.
Be collectively responsible for the actions of the organisation.
TIME COMMITMENT & LOCATION:
Meetings: The board meets quarterly. You will also attend finance sub-committee meetings, planning days, and an annual away day.
Format: Meetings are held simultaneously in-person and online.
Location: While there is a preference for Trustees based in (or with links to) the West Midlands, we recognise that individuals from outside the region can bring unique skillsets and perspectives to our work.
