Job Description

We are currently looking for a freelance Marketing Manager to join the The Bare Project team on a fixed term contract to work specifically on Common Threads Festival, one of our core projects for 2026.

This is a flexible, freelance role (approximately 1 day per week), with potential for increased hours in the lead-up to and during the festival.

The Bare Project is a theatre and interactive arts company. We are based in Sheffield, but work across the UK and internationally. Whilst our form changes on each project, all our work is marked by an urgency for conversations about what comes next-conversations that acknowledge the future weighs heavy, but that it doesn't exist yet. We create ambitious and galvanising artistic experiences for audiences, rooted in big ideas and in-depth research. We often co-create these experiences with communities of place or shared characteristics. The best way to understand us and what we do is to explore our work at www.thebareproject.co.uk

Our core team are Malaika Cunningham (Artistic Director), Joe Houlders (Writer), Lee Affen (Sound Designer), Sally Proctor (Community Producer) & Tom Dixon (Producer)

Common Threads
A festival co-hosted by The Bare Project and Higsaad Alool Weavers, Common Threads invites women-and their families and friends-to take up space in the city centre. Each September, we host a festival where we weave a 'living room' in the city centre. The space is animated with performances, meals, music and workshops. Throughout the rest of the year we have a series of workshops, co-hosted with women's groups around the city. Common Threads is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
