Job Summary

Art Camp UK is seeking dynamic, skilled artists and creative practitioners. We deliver inspiring after-school clubs during term time in Leeds and run award-winning holiday camps across Leeds, Harrogate, and York. This is a unique opportunity for artists with a passion for sharing their skills

Job Description

Art Camp UK is looking for talented, energetic practitioners to join our team this summer, delivering inspiring, hands-on workshops for children aged 5-12.

We are seeking artists and facilitators across visual arts, filmmaking, animation, music, DJing, music production, circus, dance, theatre, 3D printing, forest school and outdoor play. If you can light up a room and bring a skill, we want to hear from you.

This is a practical, front-facing role where you will lead sessions within a structured timetable. You will plan and deliver high-quality workshops that are creative, inclusive and age-appropriate, building confidence, creativity and enjoyment.

You will work within a supportive team but must be confident leading independently, adapting to different groups and managing behaviour in a positive and professional way. Our camps are fast-paced, so reliability, organisation and strong presence are essential.

Working Pattern
Minimum 3 full days per week during school holidays
Typical hours 08:30 to 16:00, Monday to Friday

We offer flexibility depending on your specialism:
Leeds-only roles from 2 days per week
Forest School practitioners up to 5 days per week
Some practitioners offered longer summer residencies

Work may take place across Leeds, Horsforth and Harrogate, so willingness to travel is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging workshops in your specialist area
Plan sessions with clear structure and outcomes
Create a positive, inclusive environment
Maintain high standards of safeguarding

Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people
Confidence leading groups
Strong communication and organisation
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
Safeguarding awareness

Teaching qualification or equivalent experience
Specialism in areas such as 3D printing, film, circus or outdoor learning

A rewarding role for creative practitioners who want to be part of something energetic, meaningful and genuinely fun.

Job Requirements

We are looking for artists and creative practitioners who can:

Deliver engaging workshops for children aged 5-11 across a range of art forms (visual arts, digital media, performance, etc.).

Plan and lead sessions that are both creative and age-appropriate.

Work confidently in school and camp environments, adapting to different groups and settings.

Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills.

Work independently as well as part of a supportive team.

Essential:

Experience working with children or young people.

Enhanced DBS (existing preferred; can be arranged).

Availability during the summer

Safeguarding awareness (training provided)

Job Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, hands-on creative workshops across after-school clubs and seasonal Art Camps. Inspire children aged 6-11 through visual arts, design, making and performance, creating sessions that are fun, inclusive and well-structured. Plan and adapt activities to suit mixed abilities, ensuring all children feel supported, confident and able to express themselves.

Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and positive behaviour management at all times. Work collaboratively with the wider team, contributing energy, ideas and professionalism on site. Communicate clearly and confidently with schools, colleagues and, where appropriate, parents.

Take ownership of your sessions, bringing your artistic specialism to life while contributing to the ongoing development of the Art Camp programme.
