Job Summary
Job Description
Create and maintain relationships with artists, buyers, interior designers and our client base
Maintain and further develop the gallery client network, ensuring all contact details are up to date on our database
Inform clients of upcoming exhibitions via our newsletter and email comms
Write copy for all newsletters and emails, with approval from head of comms
Create sales materials such as catalogues, price lists, inventory lists
Oversee all invoices and payments for sales and artist commission, working closely with our finance team, communicating clearly with artists and clients alike
Organise and host all private views, alongside our founder, curating a fun and engaged guestlist
Organise events at the gallery such as talks and workshops, alongside our founder
Oversee the website keeping it up to date with artists and exhibitions
Contribute to our social media where needed, as requested by the social media team
Oversee all gallery operations, including delivery of art, hanging exhibitions, packing and sending art to clients, ensuring smooth transit of all
Welcome gallery visitors on a daily basis, being a spokesperson for the gallery and the artists
Organise upcoming exhibitions on behalf of our founder, including all communication with and contracting of artists
Work proactively with the founder and the rest of the team to strategise for the best way to grow and develop the gallery to align with our vision and create income
The ideal candidate will possess:
Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, and organisational skills
Strong interpersonal skills, a friendly and welcoming nature
Ability to work as a team player to find solutions to problems
Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Basic InDesign, Adobe Express
Basic SquareSpace and MailChimp skills
A proven track record of sales and a network of potential sales contacts
Strong and demonstrable knowledge of contemporary art and the art industry, both in the UK and globally
Job Requirements
Gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-6pm. The applicant must be flexible and available to work outside of hours on an as-needed basis (eg. for an event). Competitive salary based on experience.
