Job Description
Are you an experienced leader looking for a meaningful challenge?
Eyam Museum, at the heart of the Peak District's historic "Plague Village," is embarking on an ambitious, multi-year development to grow and develop audiences, enhance our interpretation and facilities, and tell one of England's most powerful stories to new generations.
We are seeking a Vice Chair to help lead this next chapter.
This is a hands-on trustee role for someone who:
Brings strong leadership and project management experience
Can help guide a complex capital and audience development project
Has an interest in heritage, history, and public engagement
Ideally has experience in fundraising or major projects
You will:
Work closely with the Chair to lead and steer the project
Provide continuity and strategic oversight
Be ready to step into the Chair role if needed
Following a National Lottery Heritage Fund-supported Options Analysis Project, we aim to begin delivery in 2027, shaping the Museum's future for years to come.
Location: Ideally you will be based within 2 hours of Eyam in the Derbyshire Dales
Time commitment: Flexible but active involvement expected. Average 10 hours per month.
If you want to apply your skills to a project of real cultural significance, we would be delighted to hear from you.
