Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Wigs, Hair and Makeup Assistant to join the production on its UK Tour.

Start Date: September 2026
Contract Length: 18 Months
Salary: Buyout/ Competitive in line with BECTU/UKTHEATRE agreements

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

Repair and maintenance of all wigs during rehearsals and the performance run.
Any dressing responsibilities during performances.
Supporting quick changes and organisation backstage.
Participating in the wig get in and get out.
Ensure that the hair, wig and make up requirements are maintained to the standards of the production.
Working with the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the production. Comply with the Manager's Health and Safety and other policies at all times.
Report to the Costume Supervisor, Company Manager and General Manager on the department.
Assist the department with load-in and load-out duties.

Job Responsibilities

Person Specification

Essential
Previous experience on a large-scale production is essential
Experience with styling and dressing wigs and hair for live performance/theatre
The ability to work as part of a large team
Good communication skills

Desirable

Experience barbering would be a bonus but is not essential
