Job Summary

A responsible and organised manager to oversee the Front of House team at our main studio complex in Farringdon.

Job Description

The FOH/Duty Manager acts as the primary on-site contact during operational hours, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment for tutors, students, clients and visitors. This role includes being a designated Fire Marshall and is responsible for reporting incidents, risks, and operations updates to senior management.

Salary range: £ 33,000 pro rata per annum
Probation: 4 months

Job Requirements

Essential:
- Ability to work, in person at our studios 5 days per week.
- Prior experience in operations, facilities, or venue management, ideally within a creative or educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident decision-maker under pressure.
- Basic IT skills for reporting and documentation.
- Fire Marshal or Fire Warden certification (or willingness to obtain).
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable:
- Strong understanding of health & safety and fire safety procedures.
- Experience in a performing arts or educational environment.

Job Responsibilities

Operational Management
Lead and motivate the Front of House team. Coordinate with Building Operations to maintain clean, safe, and properly set-up spaces. Oversee daily Herbal Hill operations, monitor activity to ensure policy compliance, and resolve issues collaboratively.

Fire Marshall Duties
Act as Fire Marshall during shifts, leading evacuations, coordinating response, and liaising with emergency services.

Incident Management & Reporting
Respond to medical, safety, behavioural, and facility incidents. Maintain daily logs, complete reports, and escalate risks appropriately.

Health & Safety
Ensure compliance with regulations and conduct routine hazard checks.

Customer Service & Representation
Handle enquiries and complaints, represent academy values, and support events and open days.

Administration
Complete additional tasks as directed.
