Job Description
We welcome applications from individuals with experience relevant to our cultural, community, heritage or commercial activity.
We are particularly interested in candidates with one or more of the following areas of expertise:
Property and building renovation, ideally with listed building experience:
- Commercial events and income generation
- Fundraising and development
The upcoming capital project means experience of buildings is of particular value at this time.
No prior experience in a charity governance role is required, although a good understanding of Trustee responsibilities will be essential. We value Trustees who have strong networks and a willingness to use their contacts for the benefit of Shoreditch Town Hall.

Job Responsibilities
You will join a Board of ten Trustees, including the CEO.
The Board meets four times a year, with an additional annual Strategy Day with the Staff
Senior Management Team.
Meetings are usually held in person at Shoreditch Town Hall on weekday evenings and last
approximately 1.5 hours.
Remote attendance is possible when required.
Trustees are encouraged to attend at least two Shoreditch Town Hall events each year.
Trustees may be asked to support recruitment for senior team or fellow Trustees.
Trustees may serve on one or more sub committees during their term.
Trustees may be asked to contribute their specialist skills to help the senior team if needed.
Trustees serve an initial three year term, with a review in the first year, and may serve up to
two terms (maximum six years).
Governance and Responsibilities
Trustee roles are voluntary and unremunerated; reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed.
