Job Summary
Job Description
For Summer 2026, we're transforming The Vache estate into a world of magic and transformation with The Tempest, Shakespeare's swansong masterpiece, reimagined through the lens of Baroque music and contemporary sound design.
Expect a rich fusion of spoken drama, lute songs, instrumental storm music and immersive soundscapes. Drawing on music by Henry Purcell, Matthew Locke, and other European composers of the period, this is Shakespeare as you've never experienced it before.
We'll stage four full-scale performances and one Relaxed/Abridged performance across two weekends: 29/30 August and 5/6 September 2026.
Performances will take place in our specially built big-top tent, erected in the grounds of the Vache for the festival.
Alongside our headline production, the festival also includes a late-night Jazz Night, Water Music and Splash! a family-friendly theatrical adaptation featuring extracts of Shakespeare.
We're looking for two energetic, organised and proactive production assistants. This role is ideal for anyone looking to build experience in live arts, festival operations, theatre production or event management. You'll be at the heart of the action helping us make sure artists, crew and audiences all have a safe and unforgettable experience.

About Vache Baroque Festival
VBF believes high-quality productions of Baroque music and drama should be open to everyone. By combining contemporary artistic disciplines in performance and having pop-ups and installations away from the stage beforehand, we aim to produce vibrant events that will inform, challenge, and entertain both new and seasoned audiences. These events will be a platform for emerging artists to play, sing, dance, act, design, and create alongside some of the industry’s leading lights.
