Job Summary
Job Description
For Summer 2026, we're transforming The Vache estate into a world of magic and transformation with The Tempest, Shakespeare's swansong masterpiece (c.1610), reimagined through the lens of Baroque music and contemporary sound design.
Expect a rich fusion of spoken drama, lute songs, instrumental storm music and immersive soundscapes as we bring The Tempest to life. Drawing on music by Henry Purcell, Matthew Locke, and other European composers of the period, this is Shakespeare as you've never experienced it before.
Alongside our headline production, the festival also includes a late-night Jazz Night, Water Music and Splash! a family-friendly theatrical adaptation featuring extracts of Shakespeare.
We're looking for friendly, organised and proactive ushers to help create a smooth and welcoming experience for audience members at our vibrant summer opera festival. As a key part of the front-of-house team, you'll be an ambassador for the event - supporting everything from access and arrivals to selling programmes and guiding guests through the immersive experience.
This role is perfect for someone with a love of live events, a warm manner and a strong sense of initiative.

About Vache Baroque Festival
VBF believes high-quality productions of Baroque music and drama should be open to everyone. By combining contemporary artistic disciplines in performance and having pop-ups and installations away from the stage beforehand, we aim to produce vibrant events that will inform, challenge, and entertain both new and seasoned audiences. These events will be a platform for emerging artists to play, sing, dance, act, design, and create alongside some of the industry’s leading lights.
