Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Bar Manager to support daily operations at our new venue, Soho Theatre Pub, Walthamstow. You’ll ensure excellent service, manage staff, maximise sales, maintain high standards, and oversee health, safety, hygiene, and licensing.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

Management
Oversee daily operations of Soho Theatre Pub, ensuring high service standards and compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations. Work with the Bar General Manager to develop drinks and snack offerings aligned with audiences and programming. Manage opening/closing procedures, daily checks, and operational systems. Support delivery of events and private hires, ensuring seamless F&B service. Act as Designated Premises Supervisor when required and maintain strong coordination with the Kitchen Manager.

Customer Service
Deliver consistently high customer service, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. Resolve escalated issues professionally and ensure staff are knowledgeable about menus and the theatre's programme to enhance audience experience.

Staffing
Assist with recruitment, training, and development of bar staff, fostering a positive team culture. Support rota planning to ensure effective cover within budget. Maintain clear communication and high standards of professionalism, punctuality, and hygiene. Monitor performance, providing feedback and addressing issues where needed.

Finance & Administration
Support achieving sales targets and maximising profit margins. Assist with budget management, cost control, and sales analysis. Oversee stock management and ordering, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Help process payroll, invoices, and financial records in collaboration with the finance team.

Health, Safety & Licensing
Ensure full compliance with health and safety, fire safety, and food hygiene regulations. Act as duty manager when required, including managing emergencies and inspections. Maintain risk assessments and ensure all staff are trained and compliant. Uphold high standards of cleanliness across all areas.

General
Support Soho Theatre's values, promoting diversity and inclusion. Work collaboratively across venues, attend meetings and training, and undertake additional duties as required.
