Job Summary
Job Description
Pay: at our groups rate of £39.14 per hour, 3-4 hours on site each Saturday during term time, plus additional planning allowance.
For principal leads, additional day fee for initial planning & development ahead of launch.
Sessions at Tramshed, "South-East London's home of participation", in Woolwich.
We are building new vocal and instrumental ensembles for children and young people aged 8 to 15, expanding our existing programme of individual tuition, musicianship classes, bands and songwriting.
We're seeking inspiring, creative leaders to help realise our vision of more children making music 3+ times a week - leaders who are energised by sparking children's passion for music, and by giving them the skills and pathways to make music by choice, outside of lessons, several times a week.
This new programme will include groups for children and young people at different levels - some participants will be taking lessons, for others this may be their first experience of music education. It's important for us that they will have opportunities to perform during the year, and that the participants will be involved creatively with the music. We expect high standards of preparation and rehearsal, alongside a creative and inclusive approach that enables every participant to progress. Some children and young people will be supported by our Bursary Fund.
The right leaders will be able to apply our values of creativity, positivity, quality and respect in rehearsal - particularly in how they set expectations, give feedback, and support consistent progress. We are looking for leaders who can build and direct engaging, well-structured rehearsals, develop ensemble skills over time, and create a clear sense of musical progression for each group.
Positions are self-employed.
"I am very proud to have worked with you - it's been such a pleasure, I've learned so much. Without a doubt, the best place I've worked in the UK." - J lia, GMS teacher 2019-2024
