Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Curriculum Lead to drive the development and delivery of our Art provision across UAL Level 2 to Level 4 programmes. This includes Level 2, Level 3 Extended Diploma, Level 3 Online Diploma, and Level 3 & 4 Foundation courses, with a strong focus on high-quality, engaging and inclusive education for 16-19 learners.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of School for Art, you will provide strategic and operational leadership within your subject area, shaping a coherent and forward-thinking curriculum that reflects both contemporary practice and the needs of our diverse student cohort.

You will combine leadership responsibilities with a substantial teaching commitment (0.8 FTE, 650 hours pro rata), including course leadership of the Level 4 Foundation programme.

This role offers a significant opportunity to influence curriculum direction following a recent departmental restructure, contributing to the continued growth and success of the provision.

Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

Leading curriculum planning, development and continuous improvement within Art

Ensuring high standards in teaching, learning and assessment

Monitoring and improving attendance, retention and achievement outcomes

Coordinating examinations processes, including registrations, reasonable adjustments and grade claims

Leading internal verification, standardisation and external moderation processes

Overseeing course documentation, schemes of work and learning resources

Managing day-to-day delivery, including learning environments, workshops and displays

Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment in line with safeguarding and Prevent duties

Contributing to recruitment activities, open events and student showcases
